Building upon our Deluxe Tune package, our Premium SkiTune is for those looking for the ultimate ski tune.* Unlike our Standard or Deluxe options, our Premium Tune includes full base repairs, using both P-Tex and base weld where applicable. From there, we skip the belt and take your skis straight to the stone, where we'll begin the flattening process with a straight, coarse texture. The benefit of skipping straight to the stone is that less material will be removed from your bases as compared to a belt grind, extending the life of your skis.
Once we've worked your bases down to guarantee flatness throughout the length and width of your ski, we'll set your base bevel to ensure consistent responsiveness. Finally, we'll finish the process of dialing in your bases with a final structure grind to introduce a fresh diagonal cross hatch pattern, whisking moisture away from your bases as you glide across the snow.
With your bases meticulously cared for, we'll turn our attention to your side edges, which we'll sharpen to perfection, using our belt and diamond stones before polishing them enough to make them glisten. Finally, we'll apply a layer of hot wax using our infrared machine, ensuring your next day on the hill is one of the best days of the season.
Specific base bevels, edge angles, and wax temperatures are all available upon request!
*Full Disclosure: this option is less valuable for snowboards as their wide surface area makes guaranteed flatness impossible to offer. If the full base repair and stone-only structuring appeal to you, it might be worth it. Otherwise, we recommend our Premium Stone Grind as we cannot guarantee flat bases on snowboards.
